Bite Sized CPD

  • Continued Professional Development Made Easy — Bite-Sized Learning for Busy HVAC & R Engineers

If you’re a HVAC & R engineer, you already know that keeping your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) up to date is essential for your professional registration — for example under the AIRAH Professional Engineer Register (APER).
But let’s be honest: finding 50 hours per year (almost an hour every week!) can be tough when you’re deep in design deadlines, coordination meetings, and client reviews.
That’s a part of why HVACR Design Noticeboard was created — to help you build your CPD in bite-sized, practical pieces that fit around real project work.
How HVACR Design Noticeboard Supports Your CPD
We’ve done the hard work of finding, curating, and organising the best industry learning resources for you. Every tool, article, calculator, and video on this site is designed to help you learn — not just scroll.
    CPD Requirements
As an example of professional registration, under AIRAH APER, professional engineers must complete:
    • 50 hours of CPD per year
    • 150 hours over three years, spread across several categories
    •  How to Fit CPD Into Real Life
One of the biggest challenges engineers face isn’t motivation — it’s time.
    So here’s a practical approach:
If you spend just 35 minutes per week exploring our resources — reading an article, trying a new calculator, or watching a technical video — you’ll clock up roughly 90 hours of informal CPD over three years ( allowable under APER scheme)
That covers your Informal Learning category, leaving only 60 hours to gain across other categories such as formal training, industry involvement, or mentoring. We also welcome any Engineers presentations or technical articles written by Engineers that we can publish on this site to share knowledge and help your CPD ( you may wish to check this is acceptable with your professional accreditation body for the categories you wish to claim for). At HVACR Design Noticeboard, our goal is to take the burden of finding CPD resources off your shoulders — so you can focus on learning, one short, meaningful session at a time.
CPD doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
At HVACR Design Noticeboard, we’ve broken it down into bite-sized, engineer-friendly pieces — helping you stay compliant, stay skilled, and stay ahead. Best of all it is all free to industry thanks to the support of our partners.
